Honouring Our Lady at St. Mary’s Mission

October 13, 1917 : “The much awaited day of the sixth and last apparition of Our Lady to the little shepherds finally arrived. Autumn was well underway. The morning was cold and a constant heavy downpour had transformed Cova da Iria into an enormous muddy quagmire. The multitude of fifty to seventy thousand pilgrims, who had gathered there from all across Portugal, were completely drenched.” [read the complete story here]

The small but fervent rural community of St. Mary’s Mission (Achill, ON) honoured especially Our Lady on the feast day of the last apparition in Fatima.

After Mass, candles lightened a procession on the church grounds with the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Deacon Ryan Murphy, EP animated a short period of adoration to the Blessed Sacrament.
